The Osorno Automation Team designs custom SCADA systems using Open Source hardware components to avoid vendor lock-in. We use a Debian GNU/Linux operating system with high security, a Process View Browser, and an Open Source process visualization system. Osorno's automation team has developed an improved software package for the Process View Browser that we will release soon.
Our SCADA systems deliver alerts locally and remotely by e-mail or SMS. Our SCADA has cross-platform capability and acts as a server. Users can access the system either locally or remotely, independent of the operation system of the remote computer.
Osorno’s SCADA has an outstanding security level, with encrypted data transfer, hierarchical user privileges, highly detailed logs, and secure remote connections. We provide unprecedented electronic security in water and wastewater treatment plants.
The picture (left) shows the process visualization of an Osorno chlorine dioxide generator. As with all of our SCADA systems, operational data and error messages are recorded for permanent storage in an Open Source database.
